I really dont like cigars for personal reasons but that wont affect the comic , even is something is bad for your health you are free to make that decision, and also who can resist that delicious sensation.

Smoking just looks really cool, comics and cartoons need it.
in real life they should use nicotine inhalers or wear a fishbowl so i can’t smell it.

If I remember Well cigars is big no no at marvel comics ( poor J.J. Jameson)
